End of Week 10 on my Wales Coastal Path Challenge and I have arrived at Whitesands Bay, which looks beautiful in this picture.
Its is funny as I have managed a few miles on the actual sand this week, although Strava seems to think I was in the water.... I started to up my mileage to see how I would feel doing the marathon in October. In total this week 43.4 miles covered, which is my biggest week yet. I did complete over 9 miles with some 'jeffing' so was really pleased with this week. A number of my running friends have been so helpful with tips for Marathon distance, some really funny suggestions, but the one thing that came out was 'Strengthening'. So this week I took a trip to see Ash at Colosseum Gym. What a great first session it was. Ash has given me loads of 'homework' to do, which as well as a weekly gym session should really help to get me through my first marathon distance. With continued work I can aim then to improve on my time. After this first session I ran most of the way home and my legs felt great, moving really well much quicker than they have been. Some additional warm up bits before todays run and I did my best 5k time for weeks. Thanks Ash, looking forward to having you helping and supporting me on this journey.
