Shoes and laces

This weekend there is a large number of mass participation races, giving runners the opportunity to take a trip around the country.
Edinburgh marathon, Westminster Mile, London 10000, Birmingham 10K to name just a few. Last weekend Caerphilly 10K and Manchester 10K
With all these races there are a lot of people running and I wonder how many have their trainers done up properly?

Until recently I would never have thought of lacing my trainers any differently to the way I bought them. Of course I do remember people adding bottle tops to their laces, but not something I ever did.

It turns out that different lacing patterns aid you to get better fit around your ankle, or prevent your toenails going black.....another running problem.
There is a very interesting article by my friends at Reelbuzz helpful for those of you looking to lace up a new way.

Tomorrow we increase distance again by another 10%, and for the first time we start running from a new location.
