The second month of the 870 mile challenge started with a fantastic catch up with Kerrie.
Kerrie has been a huge inspiration and one of the main reasons I decided to I get out and start running again. To hear Kerrie talk about her journey, London Marathon and how things have progressed for her since is amazing. We spent an hour or so actually walking, socially distanced, along the actual Wales Coastal Path.It was a bit windy but dry and the views over the Bristol Channel were great. There was a strange looking building that we walked to - I plan on trying to work out what this was/is but if anyone has a starting point for me that would be very helpful. Since getting hope I have been thinking about what July will bring, and where I will be mileage wise and location by Sunday. I have added a few miles today and have a 5k planned for tomorrow, a walk on Friday and an hour of running for the South Wales Running Community Relay on Saturday (Go Team C). I think that could be another 21 miles on top of the 15 I have already done this week, maintaining at least a marathon a week. I know that a minimum per week is 16 miles but by front loading now I hope I have less to do when it gets colder, darker and damper later in the year. We chatted also about large scale events, London Marathon, half marathons etc and how and when we are likely to see them again. I think virtual will be here for quite some time, and how they engage people and keep them excited.....it still wont beat a live event, but for now we will take what we can get.
